Unofficial Amazon Haul & Deals Guide

Using Amazon Haul for Christmas and holiday gifts

Last checked:

Amazon Haul's low prices make it tempting for stocking stuffers, Secret Santa and party favors. Its rules on delivery, returns and customs are different from a regular Amazon order, and those differences matter more for gifts. This guide covers them, using Amazon's help pages and the Amazon Haul Terms and Conditions. We do not recommend specific gifts.

Short answer

1. Delivery timing

Amazon Help says purchases in the Amazon Haul store are delivered in one to two weeks, and shipping times may vary by delivery location. Haul orders are not Prime eligible, so Prime's faster options do not apply.

Simple calendar arithmetic (not an Amazon deadline): if you take the two-week upper estimate, an order placed on 2026-12-11 would be due by 2026-12-25 at the latest, with no margin. Ordering in late November or the first days of December leaves room for delays. Amazon has not published a holiday order-by date for Haul that we could find; the delivery estimate at your checkout is what counts.

2. The 15-day return window

Amazon Help says Haul returns are free for eligible items over 3 dollars, but the window closes 15 days from delivery, instead of the standard 30. Items must be returned new, unused and unaltered.

Amazon's regular holiday return extension (in 2025: items bought from 2025-11-01 to 2025-12-31 returnable until 2026-01-31) is described for Amazon purchases in general. The pages we read do not say whether it covers Haul. If it does not, a gift delivered on 2026-12-01 has a window that closes around 2026-12-16, before it is opened. Check the "return by" date in Your Orders when the parcel arrives. Our holiday return policy guide has the 2026 details.

3. Final Sale stocking stuffers

Haul items priced at 3 dollars or less are Final Sale: non-returnable and nonrefundable. For gifts, that means a wrong size or a duplicate cannot be sent back. If an item arrives damaged, defective or materially different from the order, Amazon's return policy says to contact Customer Service, and Amazon Help says Haul purchases are covered by the A-to-z Guarantee.

4. Sending a Haul gift to someone else: customs

The Amazon Haul Terms and Conditions say Haul products may be stored and shipped from facilities outside the United States, so an order may need to clear U.S. customs. For gifts, the terms say:

Amazon may charge a fixed import charge at checkout, included in the total, and says it will not charge you more if the actual import fees are higher. The terms also say you are buying Haul products for personal use.

5. When the recipient wants to return it

Amazon's return policy says a gift recipient can start a return on the Returns page using the 17-digit order number on the packing slip or digital gift receipt, or ask the giver for it. To exchange, the recipient returns the gift and places a new order. Haul's 15-day window and Final Sale rule still apply. We did not find Haul-specific information on gift receipts or gift wrap, so check the options at Haul checkout.

6. Other things to know

A gift-buying checklist

  1. Order early: plan for up to two weeks plus a margin.
  2. Prefer items over 3 dollars for anything that might need to go back.
  3. Note each order's "return by" date as soon as it arrives.
  4. If shipping straight to the recipient, remember the import documents may show the cost.
  5. Check the checkout total for any import charge.

Start from Amazon Haul; at the time we checked it had a "Holiday shop" section. For Amazon's main sale dates, see Amazon Black Friday 2026.
